Seeking after God

Just some quick thoughts that challenged me Psalm 81.

If we insist in doing things our way, then God will "give us over to our own desires" and we will lose out in the end. The fact is that He wants to "give us His finest".

At the end of the day I suppose it boils down to the following:
  1. Am I actively pursuing a relationship with my God?
  2. Am I submitting to Him and allowing Him to speak into my life?
  3. Do I have a heart for Him?
  4. Am I someone after God's own heart? (Acts 13:22)
Psalm 81
King James Version
  1. Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
  2. There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
  3. am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
  4. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
  5. So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
  6. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
  7. I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
  8. The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
  9. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

Once again, "Keep me true Lord Jesus, keep me true. There's a race that I must run. There are victories to be won. Give me power every hour to be true."
