Crowd breaker: Matching pairs

The is a good get-to-know-you activity.

Before the event, think of a number of matching pairs e.g. knife and fork, oranges and lemons, salt and pepper, light and darkness, Mary and Joseph. Write each item on a separate card.

As each person arrives, stick a random card on their back.

Once everyone is there and the signal is given, each person (who doesn't know what is on their back) must try and find their matching partner.

Lollies can be awarded as each match is made and possibly booby-prizes for incorrect matches.

The activity could be made quiet challenging by using cryptic clues e.g. NZ and Rugby, Light & James 1:17, etc
